Painting and Decorating

Painting and Decorating

Our painting craftsmen and women apply paint, stain, varnish and various other decorative and specialty finishes and coatings to residential, commercial and industrial surfaces. They have been meticulously trained to know the best paint or finish for the surfaces to be covered while prioritizing safety, durability, method of application, ease of handling and customer desires.

Some decorative projects require an artistic touch in the form of stenciling, gold leafing and fine decorative finishes for the restoration of historic buildings, as well as private residences and commercial projects under the direction of interior decorators and designers.

PDC 14 industrial painters maintain municipal assets like bridges, water towers and water treatment facilities, as well as refineries and nuclear plants. Understandably, safety plays a primary role in these areas and our members receive continual skills upgrade throughout their careers.

Wallcovering has grown again in popularity partially due to changes in manufacturing technology expanding the offerings. From infinitely possible digitally printed murals to enhanced antimicrobial papers to exotic high-end grass clothes, wood veneers and fabrics, the skills required to properly install each are just as varied.

There are many avenues to pursue within the Painting and Decorating skill set and you’ll have the opportunity to invest in them all.
